I went for a drive. The road leading to Aone is closed during the winter.
There was snow on the roadside. It will be freezing in the morning and at night.
I couldn't connect to the internet.
I want to come in the middle of winter. I would like to stay here in the summer and go on an expedition to Zao from here.
This hot spring inn is located at the foot of the Zao Mountain Range and is part of the Japan Secret Hot Springs Association. On the shuttle bus from Togatta Onsen, we were able to stop at some of the best spots to see the autumn leaves. Thank you for your smart arrangement. The inside of the inn was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Also, the view from the open-air bath was amazing, with a columnar jointed rock surface in front of you. As for the food, it was delicious, with many rare local items such as Shiroishi's famous hot noodles, grilled mackerel and bacon steak. Dessert was prepared in the common room and enjoyed in a relaxed manner. It was a secret hot spring inn that was very satisfying.
The time of autumn leaves is the best
It was a quiet and very comfortable place. After reading the comments of those with low ratings, I decided that there were no negative aspects for me who was looking for a hot spring treatment, and it was as satisfying as I expected.
I think that only those who understand the merits of the place as a spa should repeat the visit, rather than meeting the needs of today, where beauty is the top priority.
An inn run by the Society for Protecting Japan's Secret Hot Springs. Although the open-air bath is nice, there are only two washing areas in the indoor bath, and if it gets crowded, you'll have to wait in line to wash your body. One of the indoor baths, Atsuyu, was so hot that it was impossible to lie down next to the bath and pour hot water on your stomach area 100 times. There were spider webs everywhere and it wasn't cleaned properly. There's no cell phone signal, and wi-fi only works in the lobby. The food is also not good.
The indoor bath and open-air bath are mediocre, but the private open-air bath is outstanding.
The meals are healthy, with a focus on vegetables, but may be a bit lacking.
Visited in August 2011, I was worried about the road at a mountain inn, but I am relieved with a wide access road that does not have any problems passing each other. The bath and meals were good, but there is only one thing, there is no air conditioning, so during the unusual heat of the summer, it may be different depending on the floor or room, but in the room after taking a bath, I used to sit in front of the fan for a while. I took a break. The lobby had a good flow of wind and WiFi, and there were people relaxing with their families. I pray that the current abnormal weather will not become normal.
